Brenda Guardado
Chief of Staff
Brenda Guardado was born in Durango, Durango Mexico. A proud DACA recipient, she was raised in Joliet, Illinois, and moved to Chicago in 2021 to deepen her commitment to public service and community empowerment. Brenda currently serves in the office of State Representative Lilian Jiménez, where she plays a central role in advancing legislation focused on expanding access to medical care, increasing affordable housing, and creating youth development opportunities across the 4th House District. Her work is rooted in a deep belief that government must be accessible, responsive, and driven by the lived experiences of working families.
Brenda is passionate about immigrant rights, housing justice, and building systems that honor the dignity and contributions of all communities, especially those too often left behind.

Estrella Vazquez
Policy & Outreach Director
Estrella graduated Cum Laude and High Distinction in Political Science (Minors in Spanish and Legal Studies) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2021. After graduation, Estrella was admitted into the Illinois Legislative State Intern program (ILSIP) and worked with the Illinois House Democrats in their Legislative Unit. During her time in Springfield, Estrella was the Legislative Coordinator for 3 State Reps assisting with their legislative agenda and administrative needs.
Estrella is originally from the South Suburbs, but she moved to Chicago in 2022 to be more involved in-district. Estrella's passion is spreading knowledge of the legislative process to vulnerable communities because it is important that their voices are heard. She wants to be a resource to all community members because everyone deserves accessibility to State Programming and services.
