Mikva Fellow 2023
Joshelyn was Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois where she attended North Grand High School and graduated in May 2023. Her highschool presented her with the opportunity to serve as an election judge a few times throughout 2022 and 2023. Being that my mother was a native Spanish speaker, I felt it was important to use my translation skills and assist community members with any translation needs.
She was offered a summer job as a Fellow for the Mikva challenge to make a difference in her community and will be focusing on assisting with Outreach within our office. Joshelyn is someone who is passionate about giving back to others; she has focused on giving back to the community by donating clothes, food and essential needs to surrounding shelters.
Her future aspirations involve working in the medical field. It is something that she has always been passionate about and sees herself doing in the long term. Her goal is to become a registered nurse for children. She will be continuing her education through the fall and hopes to attend a community college in Chicago.
