Brenda Guardado
District Director
Brenda Guardado was born in Durango, Durango Mexico and arrived in the U.S when she was 3 years old. She is a proud DACA recipient and lived the majority of her life in the suburban city of Joliet. She moved to Chicago in 2021 to work for the office of State Representative and now Congresswoman Delia Ramirez as her Constituent and Administrative Coordinator where she focused on delivering the necessary resources to the community members of the 4th House District.
Brenda is dedicated to making sure that all families have a fundamental understanding of government services so that they can continue to thrive in our communities. She is passionate about immigration rights, access to affordable housing and workers rights.

Estrella Vazquez
Policy & Outreach Coordrinator
Estrella graduated Cum Laude and High Distinction in Political Science (Minors in Spanish and Legal Studies) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2021. After graduation, Estrella was admitted into the Illinois Legislative State Intern program (ILSIP) and worked with the Illinois House Democrats in their Legislative Unit. During her time in Springfield, Estrella was the Legislative Coordinator for 3 State Reps assisting with their legislative agenda and administrative needs.
Estrella is originally from the South Suburbs, but she moved to Chicago in 2022 to be more involved in-district. Estrella's passion is spreading knowledge of the legislative process to vulnerable communities because it is important that their voices are heard. She wants to be a resource to all community members because everyone deserves accessibility to State Programming and services.

Joshelyn Jiménez
Mikva Fellow 2023
Joshelyn was Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois where she attended North Grand High School and graduated in May 2023. Her highschool presented her with the opportunity to serve as an election judge a few times throughout 2022 and 2023. Being that my mother was a native Spanish speaker, I felt it was important to use my translation skills and assist community members with any translation needs.
She was offered a summer job as a Fellow for the Mikva challenge to make a difference in her community and will be focusing on assisting with Outreach within our office. Joshelyn is someone who is passionate about giving back to others; she has focused on giving back to the community by donating clothes, food and essential needs to surrounding shelters.
Her future aspirations involve working in the medical field. It is something that she has always been passionate about and sees herself doing in the long term. Her goal is to become a registered nurse for children. She will be continuing her education through the fall and hopes to attend a community college in Chicago.
